Starting in March, the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito are initiating a campaign called the GREAT FUTURES FUND (GFF). GFF is our annual fundraising campaign to get you involved by investing and helping to provide children with the opportunity to succeed.  Every child needs a safe place where they feel welcomed and loved.  We provide many children that place to call home through scholarships. GFF is an initiative to help continue these scholarships for children in need.

The Allred Branch Receives a Facelift!
The Allred Branch Facility received a much needed “refreshening” this past weekend with a new coat of paint. Thanks to the kind donations and generosity of Doug Allred and the money from the Ann Allred Memorial Fund, we were able to paint and beautify this branch. In the next two weeks, members of Rotary Club of Del Mar, including our CEO David H. Crean, will be on site to complete the painting of the deck. We also plan to get new signs and provide some new furniture for the kids and staff. The Allred Branch Director, Beatriz, is over the moon with the new aesthetics! Please let us know if you wish to come out to the Allred Branch and lend a hand or take a tour!

Jeffry Smith, Youth Arts Academy Guitar Instructor
Although Jeff has been working with the Youth Arts Academy just in this last year, he has made a lasting impact with his students, staff and parents. Jeff is open to become anyone's friend. He spends his break time visiting with students at the afterschool program, learning about other staff, babysitting the YAA young mascot, Sawyer, and getting to know the parents that relax in our Youth Arts Academy lounge.  Jeff teaches acoustic guitar, electric guitar, ukulele, bass and even directs one of our 12 rock bands that rehearse during the week. We are fortunte to have gained such an inspiring instructor. Parents have nothing but wonderful things to say about Jeff because he does the two things that are most important here and that is he cares deeply about the kids and makes music education FUN!

CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito
For more than 48 years, the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito has enabled the young people that need us most to achieve great futures as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Today, we serve more than 20,000 youth annually at our seven branches through Club membership and community outreach. Through our many programs our branches offer a safe place for children to go on a daily basis, during the critical non-school hours when parents cannot be present. Our branches not only provide children with caring adult mentors and high-impact youth development programs, but they are a great environment for having fun and creating lasting friendships.
